This small (64 pages) hardcover book was purchased at a library sale after it was withdrawn from circulation. Although copyrighted in 2003, this book is full of interesting and informative information about the 49th state to join the Union. Alaska's rich history is filled with North America's first peoples, Russian fur traders, gold rushes, and conflicts over wilderness areas.
