OK guys, this is a Gorgeous Huge 1.71 Carat Top Gem Quality Tanzanite. It's a Brilliantly cut into the Very Popular Oval Design. It has the measurements of 8.42MM X 4.58MM. It's not the Super Dark Colored Tanzanite, this gem has a unusual and Very Unique Quality that I believe it to be a "COLOR SHIFT" Tanzanite. Now "Color Change" and "Color Shift" are two completely different Phenomenon. "Color Change" means that a gemstone will change from one color to a completely different color. "Color Shift" means depending on the angle in which light enters and exits a gemstone will dictate a "Shift" in the shade, brightness or warmth of a specific color. This Tanzanite seems to have a "Color Shift" that the base Purple, Lavender with Red / Wine Hues will "Shift" from a Darker Purple / Lavender to a Lighter or Greener Lavender / Purple with different hues of Red and Wine. I HAVE NEVER SEEN NOR EVER HEARD OF A TANZANITE THAT HAS any COLOR SHIFT OR COLOR CHANGE. This may indeed be an Extremely Rare and Very VALUABLE Unique Phenomenon. To my knowledge this gemstone has NOT been treated in any way. It Has Not been Certified and there is no COA. If you have any questions about it, please ask!

FYI....the "color shift" you refer too is natural for tanzanites. In different light, or night & day light, the tanzanite will reflect a red or pink color. This is more common in the darker shades of tanzanite and is also used to verify authenticity.
