You put it on your pants pocket, shoe, wherever and it tracks your steps! Plus, its got a really cool "airshow" feature where you wave it back and forth in the air, and it displays in the air! :-) Its a neat little tracker! There's an accompanying app that you can keep track of your progress as well! HTH! :-)

Its a clip type tracker, so you clip it wherever you'd like. Most use a pants pocket, though I'm sure a shoe would work as well.
