Description: The continued popularity of carnations is no suprise as they provide, fragrant, long-lasting flowers both in the garden and for use in cut flower arrangements. This fabulous mix of bi-colored blooms is no exception. Fully-double, 3 to 4-inch diameter blooms with lightly serrated petals are produced from late spring to mid-summer. Striking flowers have contrasting margins or splashes of color in contrasting tones. Blue-green foliage consists of stiff, upright stems and narrow, linear leaves 4 to 6 inches in length. Seeds germinate readily in under two weeks with no pretreatment required.
Uses: Perennial beds and borders, rock gardens, cottage gardens, cut flower arrangements. Grows easily in full sun with average, well drained soil. Adequate drainage is essential for over-wintering, amend soils that are heavy in clay prior to planting. Also quitable for use as an annual in cooler climates.
