Lemon drop mangosteen is a small tree, from 15-20 feet (5-6 m) tall, with a straight, dark brown trunk. Young branches have smooth green bark. Contains yellow latex. Leaves are opposite, stiff, 3-5 inches (7.6-13 cm) long and 1-2 inches (2.5-5 cm) wide. Flowers are whitish and small, perfect, and produced in axillary groups of 1-15 at branch nodes. The fruits are round, about 1 inch (2.5 cm) in diameter, with a thin orange to reddish peel. The whitish pulp has an aromatic sweet sour taste, and contains 1-2 seeds.

Mangossteen lemon is the popular name . Scientific name Garcinia intermedia. his name is for the kind of fruit is flavor is similar between mango and lemon.

Mangosteen juice is very expensive to purchase and has a good flavor. It's very healthy. Great auction.

Ok F&W please fan back. Quick question... You say it contains yellow latex. Is this a relative of the rubber tree? I am deathly allergic to latex after working in the hospital for 13 years. I am now allergic to almost all tropical fruits ie papaya, kiwi, mango, pineapple, etc... But I do have a rubber tree plant growing outside. Ask long as I don't get the sap on my skin I don't react to it. What do you think? Should I try to grow this plant or I s there just too many fruit and too much chance that I would come in

Oh, I would probably never eat the fruit or drink the juice... It's not worth the risk. But my family would and could. I'm just worried that I can safely grow it for them or not?
