(120 days) (65 days) First listed by Charles Johnson in 1906 as being grown in the U.S. Southport white globe is also know as "Silver Ball" and "White Rocca". Southport Onion produces medium size white globe shaped onions. They are a firm and pungent onion great for cooking imparting a nice strong onion flavor to your favorite recipes. A standard white processing onion and great for farmers market. Suitable for home gardens and market growers. Young onions can be pulled up and used as scallions (65 days). A long day onion for the Northern states. Southport onion is still one of the best white keepers available today.
