Many people think that its a pesky weed. A dear friend told me about it several years ago. I haven't had it since I move to southern Utah 5 years ago, so I'm looking forward to trying it again. Fanned and watching.
Yes, this is my volunteer plant that all the sudden growing in my garden out of no where. I've never plant it before so I'm not sure if it came with the topsoil I purchased, the biosolid I used from local waste management (this stuff is awesome) or if the bird just decided I need this plant in my flower box. All and all I do like it and looking forward to try some in my salad. : )
Here is a link for you to read up about Biosolid benefits for your garden. Check with your local waste management to see if they have free biosolid program for your garden you can go and scoop it up. We have it here in WA. State and it's free if you want to go shovel it and haul it home yourself or they will sell and deliver it for you for a small fee. This product need to be mixed in with your existing soil. I couldn't have done it better without it. My veggie and flower plants are just loving it. I have a few people in the neighborhood asked me what's the secret I used to grow my plant all the time and this is the first year I have ever grow my own vegetable garden.
I hope your local waste management have this biosolid available for you. Good luck.
