Three years ago Jack Fender had a thriving career as a commercial photographer. Then it all unraveled. His wife mysteriously disappeared. He has no memory of what happened. Jack now goes through the motions of life on a passionless, self-loathing autopilot. His career has sunk from beautiful black and white gallery photography, to shooting soft-core pornography. But fate offers Jack a twist. After nearly being struck by a car that crashes, Jack runs to the scene to help. The driver is dead, but the woman in the passenger seat instructs Jack to, 'Take the box in the back seat. Don't look at the contents and hide it from the bad people.' Calling Jack by name as she dies, she makes him promise to protect it. Jack takes the box. Temptation gets to Jack and he opens it. Inside is a simple wooden cup. Immediately strange things begin to happen all around him. Then Jack meets Iona. He is intoxicated by her exotic beauty and spirit. She re-awakens Jack's long dormant passions, both in love and art. But the frightening shadow figures he senses around him and the disturbing flashbacks of Tina's violent disappearance make Jack think he's going crazy. The horror and dead bodies begin to pile up around Jack. Is that wooden cup in the box what he thinks it is? The Holy Grail? The horrifying supernatural forces surrounding the Grail force Jack to re-assess his faith and his own involvement in the impending battle between good and evil.
