Description

The listing, V-Tech V Smile T.V. Learning System and 6 Learning Games has ended.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~READ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This Vtech is listed, "AS IS" I think the problem with this unit is the power cord has a short in it and needs replaced. The unit powers on and plays 4 out of the 6 games. For some reason when a game is inserted, the unit will power off and only power back on after I unplug it from the back of the unit and plug it back in.
The cord that makes the unit run video and audio that plugs into your t.v. has chew marks on it from my daughter's dog that she used to have...there are no bare wires showing so I am pretty sure that is not the problem.
The 2nd photo shows the 6 learning games, the 2 on the left are the only ones I wasn't able to get to play and the Wall-E is the newest and only played once...so I am pretty sure there is a short somewhere!!
I listed this auction as I know there are people that know how to fix these units and I really thought it would be a shame to just throw it in the trash.
I hope it finds a new home with someone who is able to give it the TLC it needs.
This is a re-list due to the previous winner did not have their shipping address verified through Listia, I gave them step by step instructions on how to get verified and then suggested they submit a support ticket for account help. They won this 28 days ago and stopped communicating with me 26 days ago. I sent another message 17 days ago with no response, so I decided to re-list it.
Thanks for looking ;o)
think the problem is in the back of the system the reason why i say this is we bought a new power cord and i have to do mine that way for the little one but after i unplug and plug it back in it works fine til the next time so i think maybe the little jack in the back of the system may be a little lose on mine but i am not risking on taking it apart if you know what i mean but just stating mine does the same and it is still in great order other than that and the little one plays all day on it
Will it run using batteries? Is your problem strictly when using a power cord? Thanks in advance.
It does take batteries, but I have never used batteries, I have always used the power cord. We have so much around here that runs on batteries. It takes either C or D batteries!!
@Shannon141 ~ a v.smile controller with the drawing pad will run you around $30 new in store (Canada prices but the U.S isn't much different).
