The listing, 100+ Epazote Herb Seeds has ended.

Another Helpful Herb!
This Short-lived perennial grows to about 3'tall, and produces small green orb-like flowers. The seeds form within.

Used for centuries by ancient Aztec Cultures, It provides a wide spectrum of medicinal and culinary benefits.

Despite it's pungent odor and taste, it has a resinous, medicinal pungency, similar to anise, fennel, or even tarragon (but stronger) Perfect addition to Mexican cuisine though! as it serves to ward off the side effects of the magical fruit (beans)

It is also used in the treatment of:
-Amenorrhea
-Dysmenorrhea
-Malaria
-Chorea
-Hysteria
-Catarrh
-Asthma.
-Antispasmodic
-Abortifacient.
-Known to kill intestinal worms

Winner will get 100+ seeds. Another 100+ will be added if the bidding goes higher than 200 credits!
Will include two recipes (one for culinary, one for medicinal) to the winner!

Happy bidding!

Good luck, If you don't win Contact me, I should be putting more up, i'm also willing to trade seeds. There are other herbs that are helpful in digestive ailments too. Epazote is great for 'overactive bowels' and heartburn. When boiled with milk, it serves as an intestinal coating that helps from the trachea on down.

I'll print out an extra recipe for you if you do win, one that would better suit your medicinal need.
So fear not if you don't win, I will post more, and will always be happy to trade.
*this goes for anyone else who would still like some after the auction, but didn't quite make the auction. =D

I have Family in New Lenox, They have a few plants of their own, you'll want to trim it down each winter and put mulch around it before the snow hits, this will keep the roots pretty warm. I have a lot of weed-like herbs that are hardy in most climates. This one on the other hand would suffer in the winters if untended. Would grow beautifully in a pot on the porch though, will stay well contained if in a smaller pot. And responds well to frequent trimming.

My sister and her husband have had their own plants for about 3 years now, without issues, other than needing to mulch it in the winter. If you're uncertain you can look at plants from similar families as Epazote, and then compare it to native plants in your area.
