Do rose trees take years to grow & bloom?

I Have some started right now I planted. Looking forward to seeing how long it takes. The one my seeds came from was a tree my brother gave to me in 2010. This is the first try for me. They do like full sun and water. Liquid plant food once in awhile on the roots. I do not think it would take that many years to germinate the seeds. I will keep you posted on mine for some help. I have heard if you put in warm water them fill a plastic bag with potting soil,Place the seeds in there and put in the refrigerator for 3 months. I do not know if this works or not. Mostly I just plant out side and keep them watered.
