Step back in time more than a century and a half by reading this 1848 edition of The New York Herald. This is the entire newspaper not just clippings. It is 4 pages long on two sheets of 6 columns of tiny print. This was the typical style of that era.

Newspapers printed after 1799 and prior to 1860 are considered "Antebellum Papers" and were printed on naturally acid free "rag linen" paper so they held up much better than our newspapers of today. There are no illustrations but that is also typical of Antebellum papers since illustrations didn't become popular until several decades after this paper was printed.
