Does it work in a desktop PC or only laptops? Also, does it require a specific OS?

I would think that it would work in a desktop if you have a ExpressCard slot on your desktop computer BUT I don't want to lie to you so I would just have to say I don't know. I have never used it in a desk top computer because I just used it to watch my football games and shows on my Laptop computer when I was out some where there was no way to watch TV. It was a life saver for me watching my sports.

I'm interested, but I'm curious to how it all works using an antenna to pick up channels since they changed over to digital. What does the antenna pick up? Are there analogue channels left?

the tuner is compatible with the specific Edition of Media Center on your PC. For XP Users -- Compatible tuners typically contain MC or MCE in the product name or description. For example If the tuner specifications state that it is compatible with MCE 2005 and your PC has MCE 2002, it will probably not be compatible and should be avoided. This was according to HP website.
You need the right model tuner for the specific Media center you are running.
I had this tuner for my HP laptop running Vista and it was supposed to be compatible (mentioned on the laptop) . Of course I had to get the difficult laptop . After 4 hrs on the phone with 3 tech support they finally figured out that the factory never installed the software !!!!

Once done it worked like a charm.

Also as far as the operateing sysytem that it will work on I was used it on vista but I was told that it could work with XP. Now..... that was what I was told and I am not sure if they were right or not but I do know for a fact that it works with Vista and higher.

To all of my customers I am sorry you had to see the comment I had to give back to that guy but some people on here need to learn to pay attention to their own auctions. If anyone has any questions I promise to answer any that you have honestly and as accurate as possible on any auction I have and I always try to put as many pictures as I can of the item and I try to describe it as well as possible. I have never ever tried to scam anyone and I have always had a good reputation of being a honest seller on here and I intend on keeping that reputation. I love my customers and I love Listia !!!

Dude first of all if you would have read the description of what I am selling then you would have seen that I said I used it in a laptop computer away from my home to watch football games on while I was at work. Now how could I do that if it was not a laptop? Second ...if you would have looked at the name of what I had put I am selling you would have noticed that I did put HP digital TV tuner...Not DEll , Not Apple,Not some other Computer brand and Third if you look at my pictures and I think I did put plenty on there clear as a bell that there is a picture of the PC card and anyone can see that you need a express card slot.to use an express cars. So why are you acting as if I am trying to keep things from people? Looks like you need to worry about your own auctions and let me handle mine. If anyone has questions then they all know I answer any questions that anyone has. So if you don't mind then please take your "Please make sures" to your own auctions and let me talk to my own customers.

It will pick up your local channels depending on where you are at. The antenna has a suction cup on the bottom of it and I would put my laptop on top of my dash in my car and then put the antenna on top of my car and watch TV while I was working security. This was a life saver from me being very bored.
