Description

The listing, pennies, all well over 100 years old, Indian head, large cent, flying eagle, pick a LETTER, get one has ended.

got a fun auction here what i have done is taken an assortment of 18 coins all well over 100 years old, mixed them all up and then sealed each on in separate envelope, ready for shipping. Then I marked each envelope with a letter A threw R. The winner of the auction will have his or her choice from the remaining letters (I will list each unavailable letter as they are taken)
. When started, what was in the assortment was:

6 very nice indian head pennies, some are 1800s, one really nice with full liberty
.
7 beat up indiain head pennies found on a deserted beach with a metal detector. They should not be considered collection quality, very corroded, most have no readable date. I have auctioned some of these off separately with excellent feedback, very cool looking the way the salt water wears them.

4 beat up large US cents, same find. These pre-date indian heads, all of them are quite corroded by the salt water and one even partial complete.. i do not think any have readable dates. not for collection, but again very cool.

One beat flying eagle copper nickel penny no date, same find. quite corroded not for collection but again very cool.

These all are genuine American historical artifacts, please note the first six are the only ones worthy of the serious coin collector. The remaining are still all genuine and wonderful fun keepsakes, and awesome conversation pieces. Great gift. Have fun, pick your letter, and good luck.

Also please note, winner receives, one pick, one coin. unless the GIN is used. If GIN is used, winner gets 3 picks, 3 coins !!

coins will be sent securely 1st class US mail.

i just do not understand how some people think. he thinks 100 points to have one of these coins delivered in his hands is too high ?? just maybe he should try listing a single auction before telling others how to do it.

I think you put some thought and effort into your auction and is a really cool idea... just to hold something from the 1800's is definately pretty neat! Fanned you and watching...

thank you, i appreciate that. i did try to come up with something that would be fun. is always fun to get little prizes in the mail. here ya get a little surprise too. believe it or not, some people think the beat up coins are even cooler then the regular indian heads. they do have character. i have kept a few of these for myself, i love them.

Yeah, it would be fun to get little prizes in the mail.. i do like the idea of the beat up coins..im not a collector so the history to it as well as the age and weather showing is interesting to me...Id love to have the others too, but i guess id be happy with any letter!

yup, i agree, i like old coins just cuz makes me wonder the story that goes with them. who held them ? what they did to get them ? what they spent them on ? not like coins today. back then people would work very hard for a long time for just a few coins. if you bid, hope you win and get one you like.

was on an island off the portland maine coast. not deep at all, in the sand. pretty sure was the first to look there, found few hundred coins total, nothing serious. the ocean side of the island. figure from a bag on a wreck about 110 years ago. if i knew where to look, probably wouldn't tell ya. i just got lucky.
