yeah my dad describes them as having a strong smell of grape pixie stick or grape bubblegum that can be smelled from a distance

Beautiful flowers, but if you don't mind, you do not need a large tuber to start irises. You only need the 'top' of the root, the one with the 'eye'... The woody last years' roots will not produce new growth, they will only increase you shipping costs..
