This coin is a Civil War commemorative, issued in Mobile, AL many years ago. The front features a bust of Raphael Semmes, and reads: Rear Admiral, Confederate States Navy-Brig. General, Confederate States Army. The reverse reads: 250th Anniversary, Mobile, Alabama-Souvenir Money-Good For .50 cents in trade at any cooperating business or redeemable at any Mobile bank on or before 1:30 pm June 9th 1961. Obviously, it was issued before that date, which makes it at least 55 years old. Overall, the coin is in great shape, with no signs of wear.
