If soda was spilled on the unit it will need a keyboard, and likely motherboard too; however, the parts inside may be useful and the screen too.

like i stated in an earlier comment, a friend of mine that works on computers, said everything was good except for the drive. that was the only thing that needed to be replaced and because its a solid state drive its more expensive.

You can catch SSD on ebay for a pretty reasonable price. Sometimes next to nothing. I work on Laptops and I buy off there all the time.

How Much Is Shipping?
Sep 3rd, 2011 at 11:06:40 PM PDT by
Original
i just started with this so i have no idea about shipping costs. i dont have a scale at home, and i guess i offended one person by telling them so and suggesting they call their local post office for an estimate. so please dont be offended, i just dont know and all i know to tell you is to call your local post office and ask for an estimate on shipping for something that weighs less than 5 pounds.

160gig SSD drives are around $200 to over $400 on newegg...... This unit would most likely be best used for parts......BUT if it ONLY needs a hard drive a 60gig drive is around $70 - That would be worth it for a basic laptop.....
Sep 1st, 2011 at 9:29:06 PM PDT by
Original
well for anyone who is interested in this laptop and is willing to invest money in it, i guess they could go for a smaller gig drive. but we arent interested in investing money in it which is why i suggested it for parts.

Sep 1st, 2011 at 2:50:52 AM PDT by

you can call your local post office and ask them for an estimate. it weighs less than 5 pounds, unsure of exact weight since i do not have a postal scale at home.
