Questions & Comments
V-Mail forms have become museum pieces at military museums. Many a letter from home would come to the soldier this way--and sadly a few were what were called "Dear John" letters from the girl back home informing the soldier she had met someone else. But many a soldier learned of his new son or daughter, the passing of a family member, or many were sent addressed "any soldier" to be given to someone not getting any messages at mail call with a note to let him know he had been forgotten and offers to be a pen pal.
The sad thing about any war is that many solders are forgotten by their family. No, matter how our technology grows. But at less we do have people out there ready to write to them at let them know they are not truely forgotten.
I Liked how you took the time to give a some history on the V-mail system.
