The listing, 1965 Topps Embossed JOE TORRE (Braves) HOF has ended.
This is a 1965 Topps Embossed #12 JOE TORRE baseball card.
Torre is pictured here as a member of the Milwaukee Braves.
Torre was enshrined in the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, NY in 2014 as a manager, best known for winning 4 World Series at the helm of the Derek Jeter led New York Yankees. However, Torre's playing career was good enough to get Hall consideration, as well. A 9-time All Star and winner of the 1971 National League MVP Award, Torre compiled a .297 batting average in 18 MLB seasons (16 qualifying), rapping out 2342 hits, 252 home runs, and 1185 RBI along the way. The runner up for the 1961 NL Rookie of the Year Award (won by Cubs legend Billy Williams), Torre would also collect a Gold Glove award as a catcher in 1965.
Check out the pictures. Aside from a corner ding (top left) this is a nice example of the 1965 Topps Embossed inserts; the foil surface has held up pretty well on this card; if you're familiar with 1965 Embossed, you know that's not often the case.
Back is clean; if you want a picture of the back, I can take it but it will be a blurry picture, I've been trying for 2 years and my camera always seems to blur the back of these and Deckle Edge cards because of the majority white back.
Thanks for looking, happy bidding, and good luck!
