I never got a blue ray player since we use the PS3 to watch the discs and stream Netflix. Now with that we can connect wirelessly without any adapters-is that not the case w/a blu ray player? Just curious because am interested in getting a blu ray player for a different tv in the house, dont need 2 PS3's (even though my son would argue with that-lol). Thanks and great auction!

There are BluRay players that do connect wirelessly, however this one can do a wired connection or by buying the Samsung Wifi adapter it will do wireless. I put a link on one of the comments to the wireless adapter you would need.

It does not come with the wifi adapter but you can hook it up hardwired which is what I did. If you have a internet ready cable box like AT&T Uverse you can hook it up from the Uverse LAN port.

The cables that come with the player are Component cables which are the red, green and blue rca cables. The HDMI that I am using for it is one that I bought for $40 from Radioshack. So to answer your question as best as I can the cables you'll get won't be the HDMI unless GIN is used. But I will still provide the component cables.

ok you say if someone uses GIN you will include the HDMI cable... so if it doesn't go through the GIN you aren't givinig the cables to hook it to the tv or what? usually the cables kinda go with the player, one would think... or do you have another cable to hook it up just not the HDMI kind... please clarify ... thanks and please check out my listings as well =)

Small world huh. The irony too, I used to live in NYC them moved to Belleville in 1987 after I graduated from HS. I'm getting rid of it because I bought a new 3D Blu-Ray player and 3D TV. There's absolutely nothing wrong with this unit just have no need for two in my house. :)

nice, I have been considering getting a blu-ray, but I don't want to get a new TV at this time. Does the TV have to be HD to use this?

No you do not need to have an HD TV to hook this up. This unit will hook up with HDMI (HDTV), Component cables(SDTV and HDTV) or Composite SDTV. So you have 2 options for a Standard Definition TV in the latter two. Hope this helps any other question just ask.
