RARE ~ HAND MIXED COLLECTION
Hollyhock Rainbow Collection
Stately, Beautiful, Edible, Great Gift

This exotic bloom has a long and fascinating history dating back 50,000 years to a Neanderthal burial site!

Considered sacred, 'Holly'hock is linked to the 'Holy' Land and The Knight's Crusaders who named the plant for its healing properties. The sacred considerations surrounding Hollyhock continued through the Dynastic Japanese Shogun's and English Tutor rule. In fact the use of this flower in non-traditional Cottage Gardens, may have been the first time Hollyhocks were ever used by non-royals or grown outside of sanctioned royal gardens by non-priest!

"The mother loved them years ago;
Beside the fence they used to grow,
And though the garden changed each year
And certain blooms would disappear
To give their places in the ground
To something new that mother found,
Some pretty bloom or rosebush rare --
The hollyhocks were always there ." Edgar A Guest

Add these large plate sized blooms as a backdrop for your Cottage, Goth or Night Garden! This collection is a rare mixture of countless varieties and colors of Hollyhocks, including: Single & Double Mix Colors, White, Silk Black, Rare Wine, Pink, Fruity Mix, Deep Red, Hot Pink, Cream White, Burgundy, Creamy Pink, Brilliant Red, Double Apricot, plus Rare Chamois Rose Hollyhock. (all colors and types are not represented in photos.)

Flowers, seeds, roots and leaves of Hollyhock are all edible! The blooms have been used as culinary decoration for centuries. The leaves can be used in the same manner you would use spinach leaves, raw, cooked or baked. The seeds can be eaten raw or added to salads. And the roots were used for medicinal cures.

(+_+) Collected all in 2015. Went on a Hollyhock binge which is why I have some many unique ones added to this collection. But,,,,you do know that seeds can last for many many years if taken care of properly. It's said that seeds from Tut's tomb were found to be viable and are still to be found today :)))

✔Fanned! Lol, these days we all need a little luck. In fact, I would like to apply for a little 'extra.' But at least gardeners are fortunate enough to have our small reprieve of garden zen time :) As for the seeds you seek...let me know via private message, as a confessed "seed'geek" I may have them. Well...off to play in the dirt...it's Spring don't ya know (+_+)!!!!
