The listing, Samsung SCD27 MiniDV Camcorder has ended.

This is a very nice looking Samsung MiniDV Camcorder. It records video with audio and takes pictures. I picked this up at a yard sale and wanted to pass this along to my listia friends! I have not tested this, but it seems to power on fine when i plug in the wall charger. I always mention that untested items are bid at buyer's risk.

Comes with camcorder, hand strap, front cap, battery and wall charger/power adapter. Minor scuffs on outer case but overall good cosmetic condition.

Optics
The SCD27 features a high-performance 1/6" 680,000 Pixel CCD to capture high-quality video and digital photos. It's also fitted with a 10X optical zoom and a 800X digital zoom lens. Digital zoom is a powerful tool, but it can lead to "jaggies"--zigzag contours that reduce picture quality. Samsung has applied a Digital Image Stabilizer to correct this problem.

Digital Stills and MPEG Video
The scd27 can capture videos in MPEG4 format at a resolution of QVGA 10fps. In addition to high-quality video, the SCD23 also captures digital still photos that are stored on a memory card as JPEGs in your choice of three image qualities.

Inputs and Outputs
The SCD27 comes an IEEE1394 in / out, USB port, and Analog Input.

MiniDV Format
MiniDV is the preferred format for personal and broadcast-quality video, highly regarded for its high audio and image quality. With up to 540 lines of horizontal resolution and minimum color noise, MiniDV delivers a 20-percent clearer picture than analog camcorder formats. This is all delivered on a cassette that's 1/12th the size of a standard VHS tape. A MiniDV tape offers digital recording time of 2 full hours--20 times the capacity of a CD.

I looked it up on Amazon and these camcorders sell for $130 so bid high to get it for FREE!

The camcorder will turn on while charging and also once it has been charged and disconnected from the charger. The thing that I can't test is the recording capabilities because I do not have a miniDV tape, so I have not tested anything other than powering the camcorder on. This is all I know about the camcorder, so buyers bid at your own risk. Thanks!

And maybe you could take a day off from work or school and spend 25.00 for a DV cassette and try it and time how long it records for. Then take the cassette to a proffesional film editor and publish the results for us "Listians" to see.

maybe u can ask around and see if anyone you know has a extra mini dv or go to radio shack or cvs and see if they can test it for you or a pawn shop. Just a thought

Thank you, but my policy for listia is that I only accept returns if the condition of the item is different than what I have stated in the description. I've described it the best I can through the description and the buyer knows the risk.

oh.. I wished you tested if it will record or not, so hard to bid high if we're not 100% sure..co'z buyers will also think twice, we don't want to lose a high amount of credits... Is it not possible for you to test it to see if it works? Does it power up only while on charger or will it also power up once charged?

It will power up while on the charger and also once charged and taken off the charger. I do not have a miniDV tape to test recording on.

you no longer have to reserve spaces for updates as Listia has now replaced the edit button on your auctions with an update button once your auction has one bid, the update button will allow you to add remarks that add to the description of your auction or clarify something in it. it will be placed at the bottom of your auction description for all to see. good luck, and may I ask if you plugged it in why not test it and see if it would record?
