NO MOON GARDEN SHOULD BE WITHOUT ONE OF THESE NIGHT BLOOMERS.

Large white showy blooms,fun to watch open and the smell is almost inoxicating.I just want to smell it over and over.
I had 1 planted in the ground last year and it reseeded and came back this year, It has been blooming non stop now..
Had 13 blooms one night..
Excellent Moon Garden plant with large showy white, trumpet shaped flowers up to 8" long that open at night. Pollinated by Hawkmoths and other night time bugs..

7/26 the last pic shows a record of 33 flowers in one night! it smells sooooooooooo good outside!
8/6 over 50 flowers tonight!!

Medium to large spiny seed pods.

ALL PARTS OF THIS PLANT IS HIGHLY TOXIC.


Double purple Datura ,

Black Currant,

the Horn of plenty or the Downy thorn apple,

is a member of the Soanaceae, or nightshade family.

It grows 3 or 4 feet tall.

makes a great container plant too.

Plant can be over-wintered in a greenhouse environment.

Frilly, double, midnight-purple trumpet flowers with white inside.

Very fragrant especially at night.


ALL PARTS OF THIS PLANT IS POISONOUS..

Sure no problem..every evening I pich the dead flowers from the nite bebore to keep down all the pods..Plus I get a bushier pl;ant..

They are not a cold weather plant..you can over winter it in the house in a pot..or plant each spring..

Do the seeds come from the green thorny pods?....I have a white one that came up in a load of dirt I had delivered. :)

Where in the world did you find those beautiful purple ones?I gotta have them..I have tons of the white ones and had over 500 blooms in one night before on about 10 different plants..I would love to get the purple ones that away too!!

Yes they are..My yard at night smells so wonderful from ..Next year I will have a yellow ones.. I also have a white moonflower with a lavender edge it has a couple pods on it so I will have seeds for it soon!

I have these planted with the yellow alongside my evergreen wisteria. If you have never seen the evergreen wisteria take a peek at my auction, it's very rare and beautiful has a nice smal aswell.

If you plant these in pots indoors will they grow and bloom? Do they only bloom certain times of the year? Sorry, I'm totally plant illiterate. I just love them and would like to have some for inside my house.
