Is the game a 2 player game

Under modes it says, "single player, multiplayer", so I'm not sure. And I can't remember, it's been a couple of months since I tried it. Watching tv right now but will put the game on later and take a pic of main screen.

do you have to have a wii balance board?

It doesn't have to have the board. It and the motion plus can be used, but don't have to be. It does use the remote and nunchuck. From what I can see on the main menu it can have multiple players, too.
