Description

The listing, LEGENDS PRESENTS A VERY UNUSUAL AVON VINTAGE NECKLACE IN BLUES/GREENS has ended.

Now comes the fun part....describing this very unusual Avon vintage necklace. I don't know exactly how old it is and I don't think I will venture a guess either. But I know it has been around for quite awhile. It is a slide necklace that measures about 19 inches in total and the slides measure about 14 1/2 inches in length. It has a lobster claw clasp and an extender built in that can be used to lengthen the necklace if desired. On the back of one of the slides it is marked Avon SP. I cannot tell if the individual pieces are glass or polymer or what, but they are very unusual. The larger blue pieces (sorry, can't think of a better word) have what looks like a daisy pressed into them...the daisy is higher in relief. Then there are some smaller, round blue pieces with the same daisy relief pressed in. Accents in a more Aqua color are some round slides with a mirrored effect. And lastly there are some greenish blue slides with a glittery look in them. Boy, I didn't know how difficult this description was going to be...but I digress! But I can say with certainty, you won't see many, if any, like this..it is that unusual. There is no silver in it and I don't know what kind of alloy is holding the "stones". You know, I can tell you more about what it isn't than what it is. All of the stones are in perfect shape, no chips or dings. I don't think my pictures do the necklace justice, but I think you can get a farily good idea of how it looks in person! I love vintage items and wonder what they have seen over the years and what stories they could tell. If you like blues and greens...if you like slide necklaces...if you like vintage Avon...and if you like the unusual...I would venture to say you will really like this necklace. Feel free to ask questions....can't swear I will be able to answer them, but I will definitely give it my best shot. Of course, this will ship free to the lucky winner. Good luck and have fun. And have a Listian Day!!!

This is from a non-smoking home; however, it is also from a furry friend friendly home. If that is not acceptable, please don't bid...I want you to be happy.

Brenna...thank you for finding this description for me. It is much more descriptive than I could ever be. The rest is the quote about this necklace:

This is one of Avon's most beautiful sets with its "carved" blue sapphire molded flower cabochons that seem to glow from within and green opalized confetti cabochons that sparkle with hints of blue and gold. The stones are accented by aquamarine mirror-back rhinestones, all set in antiqued silver-tone settings.
The necklace is 20-1/2" long and the largest stone is 1-1/8". It has a lobster claw clasp.

I have never seen one like it before...I just didn't have much to wear it with and I thought someone else (who assessorizes better than I do) would be able to really enjoy it. Thanks for dropping by...don't be a stranger! :)

Hey MamaKat! I had another question about the necklace, do you know the year on it, or the time frame it's from?

No, I'm sorry. I don't know either of those things and I haven't been able to find another one like it to date it. :(
