The listing, Vintage "Kramer" Brooch-Mint Condition has ended.
Hello everyone,
I am putting up for auction today, another of my grandmothers beloved brooches. She wore this one
to work quite often. I remember her telling me as
a small child, How my grandfather surprised her
with this as a gift, and she was so mad he did. She
was mad because they were living in a remodeled
chicken coup and he had been late for super a lot lately.
Turns out she told me, they lived like that because it
was the start of WW2 and my grandfather couldn't go
off to war, so he was made a supervisor over 100's of
ladies at a Munitions factory, they were saving there money for a house. And, He had been late because
he was doing overtime to pay for this brooch for there
anniversary gift to her. She always welled up with tears when she told me that story. The best ending was at the end of the war thy had saved enough money to buy a
house, and when my mom got married, they gave her
a piece of land, where I grew up....next to them.
Anyway, back to the brooch. It is a Milk glass rhinestone prong set brooch in the looks of a bouquet of Flowers. It is set in gold tone frame work with a roll over pin style clasp. This is not hallmarked but has been researched to be sure for you folks, but I have it on the best authority of the original owner, that it is from the early 40's and is now in Mint condition.....it measures approx. 21/2in .
Thank you for looking and all Listia rules will apply. I ship on Fridays and pack for bullet proofing. All my auctions are FREE tracking and shipping....please have a look.
