Step back in time nearly 2 centuries by reading this 1841 edition of The New-York American. This is the entire newspaper not just clippings. It is 4 pages long on two sheets of 7 columns of tiny print. This was the typical style of that era.

Newspapers printed after 1799 and prior to 1860 are considered "Antebellum Papers" and were printed on naturally acid free "rag linen" paper so they held up much better than our newspapers of today. There is one illustrations but that is also typical of this era of Antebellum papers since illustrations didn't become popular until several decades after this paper was printed.

This one is slightly yellowed on the front page as you can see in the photos. It has been folded. It has been stored out of sunlight. There are no missing pieces and all editorial is present. The edges are not perfect on this piece. It has extra material on the bottom corners from a printing error.

There are classified ads, advertisements with prices, and many fascinating articles.
