The listing, CALVIN COOLIDGE: ENCYCLOPEDIA OF PRESIDENTS has ended.
This book was purchased at a library sale after it was withdrawn from circulation, but it is still an interesting, informative book, and it is in fantastic condition!
Calvin Coolidge spoke so little that he gained the nickname of "Silent Cal." Born in Vermont, he gained fame in 1919 as governor of Massachusetts when he ended a strike of Boston police. The next year, he was elected vice president under President Warren Harding. When Harding died in 1923, Coolidge became president. Untouched by the scandals I Harding's administration, Coolidge was elected to a full term in 1924 with the slogan, "Keep Cool With Coolidge." He took few strong actions, leaving most decisions to Congress, remaining popular as a sober leader for the "Roaring '20s."
