This is a really quality pair of pierced earrings. I don't know for certain exactly what the stone or the metal is; only that they are of a fine quality and lend a definite air of elegance.
It is quite possible that it is real gold as I got them from a lady that is known for her excellent taste in jewelry- but I can't see any markings. As you can see from the photos, the stone is quite beautiful but I don't know for sure what it is. I did put a hot pin on it and it did not melt, so it isn't plastic.
They measure 1 3/4" long and as you can see, they are quite simply strikingly elegant!
