Story's sound on PAGE AVENUE has elements of emo, but there's an edge that's far too jagged for them to be comfortably placed in that camp. Certainly there are tight arrangements, spot-on vocal harmonies, and carefully wrought hooks amid their high-energy, punk-derived sound. However, the tunes often break out into the kind of heavy guitar thunder and screaming vocals that one generally finds only in the metal world. In fact, it may be that this duality is the very thing that's allowed the band to reach such a wide audience.
