Step back in time 2 centuries by reading this 1813 edition of The Rhode Island Republican. This is the entire newspaper not just clippings. It is 4 pages long on two sheets of 4 columns of print.

Newspapers printed after 1799 and prior to 1860 are considered "Antebellum Papers" and were printed on naturally acid free "rag linen" paper so they held up much better than our newspapers of today. There is one illustrations but that is also typical of this era of Antebellum papers since illustrations didn't become popular until several decades after this paper was printed.
