The listing, Seagate 40gb PS3 Hard Drive has ended.

This Hard Drive works perfectly. Had in my PS3 and wanted to upgrade to 1tb. Will have free shipping in the US. Also if you would like I could have it converted (formated) to work with a computer for an extra 40gb of room for your computer, if desired.

It sure would. But like all ps3's it would need the little bracket to hold the drive in place from moving around, insuring the drive doesn't partially slide off the port during game play, moving the ps3 etc.

No games are on it. Just a clean drive with PS3 update 4.70. If you want an operating system installed I could put Windows 7 home premium or ultimate on it.

The drive says that you can put it in a pc tower and not a laptop.
Would you recommend that.

I have used PS3 drives in my tower before. They don't recommend you using it for a laptop hard drive due to size. That's why I just used them as a spare storage drive in my computer. Think of it like using a SD Card in your phone...but for your computer.

You can use it in you laptop or tower. Which ever you prefer.

Keep in mind, after installing windows on this drive will only leave you with 13gb of space. That's why I said it would be perfect to use as a storage drive (if for your computer). Like storing music, photos, documents.
