The listing, Chunky Amber Bakelite Bangle has ended.

Yes, bakelite... Authentic! From my personal collection. Nominal wear. No chips or cracks... It's right at 8' diameter-running a measuring tape on the insde. Side to side is 2 5/8". 1 1/8' wide~an awesome chunky wide piece of bakelite.
I had hoped I wouldn't have to do this but people complain and just have No manners apparently.. SO, as many point out, the Rules...

Bid if you want it, buyers remorse or just changing your mind is not a valid reason for refunds..
I pay shipping cost, if you feel the item is too high to bid on, move on.. Getting something completely free is in God's hands, not here on earth..
Complaining about the item, will get you blocked from my auctions...And I have some cool stuff:)

I have had this in my collection for a couple of decades if not more, it's been tested with simichrome and warm water which releases the formaldehyde odor. So, yes it is authentic bakelite... If you were worried about it being the new stuff coming out of Asia, Bulgaria, India, etc... It is not. I personally have had this for many years..

use simichrome and if it turns a golden yellow, it's bakelite. And always test with very warm water, it will release a formaldehyde odor. Get to know bakelite, there's tons of 'new bakelite" coming out of several countries... Asia, Bulgaria, etc... So be especailly careful when purchasing bakelite.... If it's in Perfect condiiton, be aware. There's always normal wear to authentic pieces.. If it looks new, likely it is...

Simichrome is a polishing paste and it won't hurt bakelite like some other chemicals can. Come in tubes and can be purchased online, $8/$9. You can test with very warm water, this will release a formaldehyde odor if it's bakelite.. That's the best way to test ..Most people confuse bakelite and catalin, much of the jewelry people call bakelite is in fact catalin. The bright colors people love is catalin... True bakelite is brown or black and can't be reworked like catalin can be... But most know the "bakelite" name...
