Description

The listing, "MOONSHINE" SNAKE PLANT~LIGHT GREEN~UNUSUAL HOUSEPLANT~SANSEVIERIA~L@@K!! has ended.

Here today, we have another of my UNUSUAL plant picks for your consideration. It is a SANSEVIERIA---commonly known as a SNAKE PLANT or MOTHER-IN-LAW's TOUGNE. These are truly UNIQUE in their coloring!! We are used to seeing these in only the banded green and white leaves---OR green and white with yellow edges. This variety is a much lighter green and known as MOONSHINE. I bought this HUGE pot full filled with mature plants and several babies--one of which has poked it's head out of the SIDE of the pot---splitting the pot open. I have already split all the plants--put them in fresh soil and fertilized them all including the babies.
You are bidding on ONE of the babies out of this pot full. It will be about 6-8" tall (larger pot pictured is NOT included-only ONE baby.
These are EASY CARE--my favorite!! They are DROUGHT TOLERANT---which means very little watering. They TRULY do not like much water at all---and over-watering will definitely be under the heading of "DON'T!!!!!!!!" (It will rot the roots!!) These plants grow fairly quickly and love it outside in the hot summer months (in the shade). They make GREAT total HOUSEPLANTS and that is mainly where I keep mine. They are low light tolerant as well---E*A*S*Y!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I offer FREE SHIPPING to save you $$$!!

GOOD LUCK and Happy Bidding!!

Thanks on me being here, I wasnt home at the time. Thank God.
Mother-in-law's tongue produces small, greenish-white flowers on a long stalk. The flower stalk can be up to 3 feet in length and contain dozens of small blossoms. The blossoms are tubular-shaped, similar to a lily. They bloom very rarely. It is not uncommon for them to bloom only once every 10 years. Mother-in-law's tongue plants often bloom when they are under stress; for example, if they are root-bound. Enjoy the blossoms from your plant, because you'll seldom see any.

WOW---ll VERY interesting to me!! So much so--I actually called my old boss at the garden center I worked at tonight (she is a licensed master gardener) She confirmed your info you shared--all correct!! She was surprised I had N*O*T witnessed any we had BLOOMING. But--we figured it out that the reason was the ones that bloomed were always in the growing grounds---NOT in the annual greenhouse I ran. In other words--any that bloomed, had done it, BEFORE I received them in my greenhouse to sell!! Which makes sense--cause I never went to the growing grounds. Anyway--I THANK YOU for the interesting and useful information--for ALL of us!!

I have one, but, mine has dark green and light green stripes on it. it started blooming in 2004 in the winter time and has bloomed every year since. The buds come up on a long tubular stalk from the middle and usually has 3-6 of them come up and they open in the day and close at night. I had had it about 15 years or so before it bloomed and don't know how old it was before I got it. Thought you would enjou a little more info about a different kind of "Mother-in-laws-tongue" Oh, by the way, this one had tiny pink flowers half way down the tuber. I still have it but haven't decided if i want any Babies up for for Auction or not. I would fan you but i need more fans and comments before I get to fan anybody else again. Thanks for listening anyway!!!! Bless you all!!!!

OH---they are great--there is the solid green one--green and white striped, green with yellow banding up the leaves--the light green one, and one that is a variety that has wider leaves that the leaves aren't as tall---lots of varieties. I have never had one bloom---some I have had for years. RATS. Interesting story---THANK YOU for that and for stopping by!!
