Description

The listing, 3 live Black Taro Elephant ear rooted cuttings plants for pond, water feature, ground or planter! has ended.

3 live Black Taro Elephant ear rooted cuttings, beautiful plants! Grow very, very large as you can see in the first two pictures. The last picture is of the 3 rooted pieces you will receive. I will ship them priority mail in a dampened paper towel in a ziploc baggie but please get them into the ground or a container as soon as you receive them. They love water so they work fantastically in a fish pond or some type of water feature, as I have shown in the first picture (my pond). They will also grow in the ground as you can see in the second picture (my back yard). They are easy to care for, just prune when needed and water if not in a water environment. When you receive the rootings plant immediately and water well if you're putting them into the ground or a planter and keep damp. In about a week, possibly two, you will see this gorgeous plant grow and soon you will have shootings coming up as they spread pretty fast. Mine do die back in the cold of winter here in Florida but we only have about 2 months of really cold weather and they always come back. Last year it got down to about 14 or 15 degrees for a couple of weeks but they bounced right back in the Spring. I have two of these listings going.

How would these weather over in Michigan? Would I have to dig up in fall?

Yes, I'm fairly certain you'd have to dig up and replant in Spring. These are tropical plants and as I said I haven't tested them with long-term winters like yours, only the short winters we have here in Florida. They do grow inside also though and make beautiful container plants and are great to add spark to inside environment during winter months, so a container would be a good option for you. Thanks!

No, these have never flowered but the leaves on them get humongous, I guess which is why they're called elephant eared taro. haha

Is the second pic of plain old elephant ears? I have gazillions of these and give them to anyone that wants them, how ever I want a black one badly.

You know, it's possible that I got my pics mixed up because I have tons of those too and if I did I'm very sorry but the cuttings are 100% black taro.
