She has mastered a papering techinique that embraces magic & beauty while promoting the recycling of glass jars into colorful art. This jar was a pickle, now it is a lovely Faerie Realm Jar! This Large Fearie Realm Jar has sold in craft shows & on our website for $55! It has also been featured in a local artist auction... winning bid was $78!!!

All spent happily covered in colorful paper, glues, & glitter...while listening & singing to the music of Stevie Nicks, BTO, ELO, Carly Simon, john Denver, CCR, & Aretha Franklin!

Let me help you'all imagine what goes into my creations. The night I began creating this jar, I was in a singing-dancing mood!!! It was a lil' party in my back room! Just me, the jar, and the music for hours & hours with an endless supply of raspberry tea. The time spent was continuous with minimal breaks for drying & knaps. When I finished I felt like I had attended a 3-day rock/ motown festival with all the greats! To say the least, There is serious creative energy in this jar. Everyone who has enjoyed it in my shoppe becomes bouncy, joyful, and starts humming! I can't imagine why!!!? LOL

Funny story... My first jar I made I intended to use tea lights... Lit the tea light... Got distracted... Came back 20 minutes later... the everything was sliding off the jar onto the counter... I found out that day I should only use Flameless Candles....LOL!

i love the jar. but just wanted to let you know that i made one of these in school in my earlier years. it was really fun to make.
i gave the one i made to my mom for mothers day back then with flowers that i picked out of the field. and it holds water really well...lol...still to this day.... my jar is now 40 years old....they do hold up.
my jar was very pretty when i made it, i was proud... but i think yours has a few more colors then mine , and more creativity to it . anyway i fanned you and i will be watching. thank you for letting me share my story..

I totally love your story! I also first learned to make these jars when I was young like you. When I was 11 years old, art became my best friend during some very difficult challenges in my life. Soon Mother's day came around. I had a new foster Mom that I adored. I told my teacher of her gardening ability, all the beautiful colors that I got to play near every afternoon. My art teacher let me stay after school for several days and taught me this technique. The very first jar was actually a curvy salad dressing mixing bottle that we papered with white sparkly christmas tissue paper, then dry rubbed with lavender paint to accent all the torn paper peices, and then glitter coated. I think my foster Mom liked it. It was the first of many that I would make through all the years as gifts. I fill them a variety of items. In recent, due to the advancement of colors, tissue papers, adhesives, and so on... the technique of paper mache' has become even more beautiful!

I hope this jar inspires you to hold hands with your inner youth and bring forth beauty through art. I would love to hear that you were inspired to create again! I'm 48 years young and have to let my inner youth come out and play really often!!!

Morning, Are the embellishments on just the outside of the jar? Have you tried putting on clear martini or wine glasses? Are they sealed so can be hand washed?
interesting and unusual....

Great question. I don't recommend drinking from these since there is glue & spray paint involved in the making of them. I have not been successful in submersing these creations in water. I simply wipe them down with a barely damp cloth to keep dust off them. Fanned you!
