Description
The listing, LOOK: Lot of yarn--10 skeins all one color~~~ has ended.
ATTENTION KNITTERS AND CROCHETERS!!!!
Lot of 10 skeins of beautiful burgandy yarn, all of the same dye lot. Size 4--worsted weight yarn, 50 gram balls each with 145 yards. This yarn is 76% acrylic/24% wool and is washable with low-temperature/delicate setting on your dryer.
I am sorry about the poor quality of my pictures! The true color of this does not show through. It is a very pretty dark burgandy, soft, and will be very comfortable to wear.
Sagebm1, I hope you're not hanging your hooks up forever. I'm only 31 and I still use the attachment for mine, easier on the hands. I hold my hook like a knife, not a pencil, though.
NO!!! I enjoy it way to much to give it up forever! However, I am doing smaller projects that don't take as long to complete, instead of tablecloths and afghans (may still do baby afghans though!) I take breaks more often and it takes me much longer to finish a project than it used to!!! What do you mean by attachment? I didn't understand that reference!
Sagebm1, I have a hook "holder" that is about the size of a bed nob. They sell them in craft stores and it gives you better control near to the head of the shaft. It really helps my crochet work go faster, aside from the benefit of being easier to hold than just the hook. I gave one to a relative with arthritis and she can crochet again. Your auction is amazing, to rich for my blood, but lovely.
Yea, we just really "trade" on here. I didn't mean to insult you if you couldn't do free shipping but it is kind of expected. I just spent $30 today at the post office but figured I got 5000 credits from 5 auctions that ended last night. When I win something for my grandaughter 1500 mi. away, I just have it mailed to her.--kinda neat as she's 2 & growin' fast. I'm having 2nd thoughts about listing "heavy" stuff.I belong to paperbackswap for books--that's fun too!!
Oh, Hun! No offense was taken!!! I understand about the free shipping, but until I get a little bit established, my hubby and I talked it over and he would prefer that I ask for shipping--UNLESS it gets over a certain amount, then he said it made sense to do free shipping. When I get more experienced, I am sure I will do "almost" all my stuff with free shipping! Like you--I have reservations about shipping heavy stuff, but he has some stuff he would like me to list under automotives and sporting goods that will have to have shipping paid!!!!
I've been "destashing" fabrics & some clothes PLUS I'm a garage saleaholic & always find "treasures" for quarters. The site is fun but expensive--I do free shipping & mostly only bid on other free shippers....just a tip. It seems the free shipping auctions get more credits....some don't even bother looking if it's not free shipping. I didn't do it free my first auction & only got 500 credits for a brand new Vera Bradley wallet when I first joined. Good luck & have fun here
Thank you so much! I am enjoying my experience so far, and I have found that, like you, many more experienced members are glad to help out the "newbies"! I really appreciate it. I am going right now to check out your Fabrics. (That's right, clear out the stuff out of the craft room, just to make room for more!)
No kidding! I am really enjoying doing this! I have gotten some VERY good items, some for myself. and some to put up for Christmas. I am getting rid of some things that are still very good, but I have just let them "clutter". Like the old saying goes: One man's junk is another man's treasure! (That applies to women better than men though!O
TOO COOL! I bet they have a great time whenever they get together! Thanks for fanning! I am listing more bags of yarn in just a little while! Keep watching, and while watching; BID!!! LOL!
Thank you both for the tips...do you lose the credits you bid on if you don't win?? I already don't have enough to keep bidding on this...and depending on if it takes those credits I bid here will depend if I can bid more..thanls so much for letting m bid and the info
No! If you are outbid on an item, you get to keep the credits that you used to bid. If you look at "My Liastia" on the left side of the page way down, there is a place where it tells you your total credits, and your available credits. Your available credits are what you have left to spend out of your total credits. Say if you have 2400 credits, and you have bid on 2 auctions one bid of 181 credits and the other of 287 credits, then you have this situation: 2400 - 468 (the total credits you have bid) = 1932 available credits. Then say you get outbid on the auction you have bid 181 credits on and you decide not to bid again. Listia with change your available credit balance up to 2113 by adding back the 181 that you had bid. Does that help any?
WHOOPIE! Guess what, my friends? While going through some of the totes in my craft room today, I found two more bags of yarn in this type and weight (one a soft Medium-dark blue and the other a very pretty "speckled" brown color) and one bag of a cream color that has been opened and is missing two skeins! I also found some Patons Twister yarn--2 bags, each in a different color, and I am going to list them ALL later this evening! Keep an eye out!!!
Hooray for free shipping! @Shelly - It just means someone else has something in higher. Right now I'm winning w/ 656, as people bid it will up mine to the max bid I entered.
Thank you! I wish the pictures would have been better so you could see the lovely burgandy color of this yarn. I am getting arthritis in my hands and it is hard for me to make the bigger projects anymore (I do both knit and crochet, although I prefer crochet). I want to see how this lot does and if it does well, then I will post other yarn lots that I have bought, most of them like this, new in the bag and all one color/dye lot.
I keep putting in new bids by everytme I raise I immediately get a message saying I've been putbided even though I put in more than enough so maybe I'm not understanding
Shelly, some people bid by the hundreds, let me explain. If a bid is currently at 205 and it says that 4 people have bid on it, sometimes the person that is in the lead has put in a bid that STARTS at 205, but they may have actually bid 289, so that when other people bid, they have to get up to 289 before their bid counts. After reaching 289, even if the had bid 500 credits, it will only show the bid at 290. If no one else bids, they win the auction for 290 and the rest of the credits bid by them (up to the 500) will be returned to their total credits available.
NEVER say you are going to lose before the auction is over! You never know what is going to happen with one of these auctions! The only way you can lose is if you quit bidding, and only you can determine how much something is worth to you!
I have yet to go through them all, but I know that I have a navy blue lot like this, a cream lot like this, and there are others in my craft room in totes that I have to dig out yet! I have quite a stash!
