This modem was removed from a Wal-Mart eMachine. It is a dial-up modem, good for replacing one that was damaged by lightning or other accidents. You cannot use this with Cable or DSL connections. Low profile means the adapter plate is shorter and will not work with a standard size tower case although you can easily change it out for a larger adapter plate (not included)
