Yeah it works great I keep it for a backup phone in case I need it but I can get rid of it. Only thing you need to make it work is a tmobile sim chip and a gmail account.

The g1 is a google phone and requires a gmail account but its free to set up and you can do it from the phone when you turn it on

I cant say anywhere but you xan check out a map on tmobiles website to see the coverage in your area. It works great everywhere ive gone with it

The internet on the phone is 3g and costs an extra 30 a month through tmobile bit it does have wifi so you can use internet wherever there is a wifi connection

If do not already have a phone with an internet plan and you put the sim card in the phone, will it automatically add internet to the plan even if you only use WiFi?

No you would have to call tmobile and change the plan to do that but you can still use the wifi on it
