I usually use mine on my back, abs and neck, but injured my ankle recently and it worked well there. My doctor recommended it for weak knees and elbows... so my guess is everywhere :) I don't see how it would be good for the face, though.

It does tone the muscles, but I wouldn't say that it handles extreme weight loss, lol.
