This Kanthal 28 gauge AWG A1 wire is great wire for building/ rebuilding small heating coils. This wire provides 5.27ohm/ft. of resistance at room temperature and well here are some specs that should be pretty close:
Kanthal A-1 Wire 28 Gauge, Series A-1 Resistance. Max operating temperature 1400°C (2550°F), melting temperature 1500C, Resistance (ohms per ft @ 68 deg F) 5.27ohm/ft. Kanthal A-1 is more resistant to oxidation and has a higher maximum operating temperature and Ohm ratings than Kanthal A or Kanthal D.

Theoretically, this would would work for buiding a Hot foam cutter, a custom soldering tool, or an electric lighter(very simple to do) or just use it to replace strings on your ukelele (not sure how it would perform if you tried that, probably not very well)
