How can I program my local channels into it without the remote? I only see three buttons - are those the power on/off, channel up, and channel down buttons?

Thanks for any info on this cool item.

That's a good question - I do not have an answer right now. I will need to check to see on the one I am keeping. Possibly a universal remote? I'll try that as well and get back to you as soon as possible.

Can you still change channels on the TV - or does the digital converter need to be set on a fixed channel like 3 or 4 to work?

The TV needs to be set to 3 or 4 and there is a switch on the back of the conveter box to switch to 3 or 4.

Hi! Since the remote isn't included, is there a way to just use a universal remote?

LOL nevermind I found the answer. You can use a universal remote. I've read that it's best to purchase one from Radio shack. Of course you have to make sure you get a remote that will be compatiable with the converter box.
