I have not cleaned this coin, nor do I clean coins except for the recommended, oil olive oil on old copper coins. I have had this coin for over a decade and it has been in a flip all that time. It does have a roughness to the coin, but that is how I got it that way. The coin's appearance is better in hand than you see in the pictures in my opinion. I hope that clarifies things for you and others? Thanks for your interest!
