Description

The listing, "Superman: The Movie" Poster; Mylar, Vintage, Genuine, and Very Rare From 1978 has ended.

OK Supes fans and especially you fans of Christopher Reeve! This is probably the only time you will EVER see this poster on Listia. It has never been listed on here before, I'm fairly certain, as this poster is so hard to get a hold of. But, this poster is an 1978 original printing from when the motion picture first came out! This poster is made of Mylar, which when used in posters, is a highly reflective form of some sort of nylon plastic I believe, as is seen in the pictures. This is not a cheap 5 dollar poster that you can find at allposters.com or any other generic poster website on the net. I don't think you can usually find it on movie poster specialty websites for that matter. So pick up this copy for that supes fan in your life. This would a great treat for someone for Christmas or for a birthday. Chances are, the recipient will have never seen this poster before and will be astonished and amazed at how cool and rare it is! I have only seen two of these in the past 7 years or so; once when I bought this one and one other time. The poster measures 21 in x 30 in and is more than suitable for framing. You would NOT want to put tacks into this item so as not to degrade the value. This is NOT a One Sheet (27 x 41) that was silver in color for the Limited, Christmas Advance Release Advertisement posters you may remember seeing in theaters when you were young. This is a limited poster but, it came from a specific chain of theaters up on the Northwest Coast of the USA if I'm not mistaken. If anyone knows anymore history behind this poster, feel free to share. And if you have any questions, feel free to post as well. Otherwise thanks so much for looking and happy bidding!

Sincerely
jimvertigo

Duh! Haha! I hadn't been made aware of "LL&P" until he died. It was not in original Trekkie Speak. And I've been a Trekkie for 35 years! Haha! :) No rolling will not harm it. That's the way I bought it was rolled. Since it's essentially made of plastic (or some nylon chemical that mimics plastic) it doesn't "behave" like paper posters. When you get into that arena, the danger of degrading a poster by rolling it only comes when your one sheet was printed before 1986 and was sent out by the national screen service folded. You NEVER roll a folded movie poster. But, this one is pretty limp for a better lack of a word. Ha! So...no aging by rolling. :) But, you definitely would not want to ever fold this one; so your only options are to lie flat or to roll. Hope this helps clear things up!
