This is a 2000 Pacific Paramount "Ruby" PEDRO MARTINEZ baseball card.
Pacific being a Canadian product, albeit more heavily distributed in the US, "Ruby" cards were the Canadian version of the cards (US version featured silver foil, not red). Some of the cards made it into US distribution through stores owned by Southland Corporation.

Pedro Martinez is one of the best pitchers of the modern era, having won 5 ERA titles, 3 strikeout titles, 3 Cy young Awards, and having made 8 All Star appearances. Best known for his time with the Boston Red Sox, Pedro won a World series ring with Boston when they broke their 86 year championship drought in 2004. With a sensational 219-100 career mark with 3154 strikeouts and a 2.93 ERA, Martinez was an easy selection to the baseball Hall of Fame, where he will be inducted in 2015.
