Domo-kun is the official mascot of Japan's tv channel, NHK. The name "Domo" is a pun on the words "dōmo, konnichiwa" (どーも、こんにちは) which is a greeting that can be translated as, "Well, hello there!" He is a brown, furry and oviparous monster with a large, sawtoothed mouth. Domo's expression is a combination of cheery wonderment with an underlying sense of fascination. His favorite food is nikujaga, a Japanese meat and potato stew, and strongly detests apples for an unknown genetic reason.
