see that handle behind the grip and the lip at the end of the cross bow well u put one hand on the lip the other on the handle behind the grip push a botton right where the handle and grip meat and "break" it . its called "self cocking". ok if you ever shot a pellet gun you break the barrel which pumps the weapon and u put the pellet in the chamber, its the same thing with this crossbow. or you can get a better jest of this buy googling Cobra pistol crossbow. hope this helps.

Just wanted to make a comment. Received an email from an individual that made me very irritated and just wanted to post this so i dont get any more questions like this one. This individual asked if this crossbow can kill someone. pretty sure the purpose and invention of a crossbow was and is to kill been used for hundreds of yrs in warfare and hunting, you can use a spoon and kill someone its all about placement penetration and force. this is not a toy please only bid if you know what your doing with any type of projectile launching device.

bought it one month ago in perfect condition. you can by rodes at big 5 maybe even the crossbow believe there 80$ got this one on sell though. if your 15 maybe should ask parents its only bad to shoot this when you might hit someone or something just make sure whatever your target is theres no one behind.

i only have on rod left i was shooting targets to close and the impact broke off the back. like i said its a 80 pound draw its pretty powerful and not a toy. i go hunting with a 80pound draw bow and i take down elk with it, but since its a rod and not an arrow the max distance is like 40 ft the "rod" or arrow is only 6 inches long.

with a pistol crossbow the range isnt very far because of the rod your shooting. ive shot it in the back yard you can shoot it in your yard or whatever just make sure theres nothing behind your target you dont wanna hit. yes, its in fine condition ive only had it for a month or so i went in to big 5 to buy some ammo and i saw it on sell so i had to buy it. its good but im more of a rifle and bow guy.
