Brand new in sealed package. I loved this gadget so much that I bought an extra just in case it broke. One year later mine still works perfectly but more importantly my dogs don't need it anymore. They actually behave now (most of the time lol)!

No it doesn't! It uses sound to get the dogs attention. The sounds should be used to reinforce verbal commands. I took a few classes at petsmart to learn some basic training skills and commands(it's very easy to find the same training on YouTube and other sites if you're on a budget). It will work if you are consistent with your verbal commands, body language and incorporating the sounds with both. I used the clicking for calling my dogs over to me and for simple things. I used the bark control sound for getting their attention when they were hyped up(when barking like lunatics for example). It's not magic though..you need to be consistent. I had a really hard time with getting my dogs to behave, so I'm happy to help if you need it:)
