I had read that this type orchid tree does not put out seeds, quote from internet "Unlike other Bauhinia species, the Hong Kong variety is sterile so you don't have seedlings popping up all over your yard". This is the 1st year for this tree. Only a severe weather trauma creates these seeds. I only have a few seeds as they did not produce many. I did plant 2 seeds and they came up..

Leaves, branches and trunk are covered in thorns so beware..but the overall appearance is gorgeous when in bloom, you have blooms everyday and they wilt at noon.
This is a fast growing tree, a tropical tree, will freeze in temps that stay under 30 degrees for longer than 6 hrs...

The leaves look like green butterflies that open in the morning & close at night. Blooms will be all along the branches.

DO NOT bury them..they like very little dirt on them. Keep them damp and they will be growing little trees in a few days. I used Miracle Grow soil.
