Pinto beans can be harvested as a shell bean or as a matured dry bean.

Pinto beans are half runners. Can plant in ground or deep containers. The plants will produce 5-6 bean pods with approximately 5 beans inside.
CAUTION: Pinto does not transplant well, does better growing where planted. It will transplant but you might lose some pods so it's better to plan ahead. Also, Pinto are not hardy and won't handle cold temperatures.

Height: 20-36 inches
Days to harvest: 85-95 days for shell bean
Primary uses: cooking and great source of fiber.
Sow seeds 2" deep, spacing 24-36". Plant in full sun and keep soil warm and well drained.

***save your beans from this harvest!! 15 plants will not produce a lot of beans to last you long. The more you grow the more you'll have.
